I hear rumors that the camera union will likely give up their contractual right to 10 hours to drive home, sleep, and return to work for a 9 hour turnaround. My union gave that up already, and I therefore have only a contractual right to 9 hours to do the same. It takes me 3 hours round trip to get to work. Do the math. After a 14 or 15 hour day, I’m a danger on the road. With only 5 or 6 hours sleep and a 14 hour day, I approach weapon status in a car. We now usually get 10 hours only because of the camera union contract. If this is true, there will be only 9 hours turnaround for everyone, which will mean we will have to function on 4 or 5 hours sleep. Yikes.
