The above is a link to a colleague’s wife’s illustration / art blog that sports an image commissioned to be placed on a kid-sized, antique wooden school chair for my 2.5-year-old niece for her third birthday. When I first saw this magical image on a kids chair in their home, I was deeply touched, and knew I needed to have it somehow in my life. Even better, to have it in my own life for a short while — to add a lot of love to it — before passing it along to my niece next winter.

Can’t tell you how it warms my heart to connect this way with my colleague and his family and my family and all that we do.
